The Belle Isle Aquarium is a public aquarium located in Belle Isle Park in Detroit, Michigan. It opened on August 18, 1904, and is the oldest public aquarium in America!
The aquarium was closed for 7 years due to budget cuts and officially reopened in September, 2012.
Now run by all volunteers the aquarium at is free and open to the public 10 a.m.-3 p.m. every Saturday.
