Guest Blogging 101

gues1

Guest Blogging! What is it? A platform which can be a very useful marketing tool if done correctly! We would love you to guest blog on iHeartKids and reach our fabulous family of readers in over 140 countries! Here are some tips on writing a successful blog:

Niche Topic Based on Interest:

Write what you know about. Your post should engage a special area of demand for your brand, product or service.

Keep it Simple!

Don’t try to use fancy words which will only confuse your readers. Write for meaning and purpose, not just words. A simple 200 word post can attract more readers than a 1200 word post that might scare readers away. Consider using lists or bullet points.

Be Yourself & Get Creative

No blogger or journalist appreciates plagiarism so just don’t do it! Type words that come directly from your mind….As long as you don’t have any major grammatical or typographical errors. Oh yeah, don’t forget to tell the readers at the beginning or end of the post who you are and what makes you the expert on the post!

Keywords & Tags

Bold the keywords of your post and include tags of those keywords. This will help Google pickup your post in Google searches.

Link without Over-Linking

Remember to link keywords to your site but only link the major keywords that pertain to your post.

Common Courtesy

If you use a photo or content that doesn’t belong to you, give credit where it is due! A simple caption or copyright info works just fine.

Promote

Don’t just rely on us to promote your blog. Post it on your own site and social media accounts. Ask your friends to help promote the post too!

Engage & Follow

Ask questions and encourage feedback. Follow up with your post. If a reader comments on the post, comment back!
